When your at your most frustrating point. Can't find your answer, even with 233 tabs open on Firefox and you don't like to ask for help, but your at that point. That's when your almost at your answer. Take a break, have a cup of coffee, tea or whatever it is you have a cup of. Come back to your computer. Ask for help , and if your like me, you miraculously find that answer before anyone even answers the question. That's how this whole process has gone for me. 1 year ago I knew Windows, that's it. I now can install 4 OS on one laptop and quad boot, I have a cluster of Proxmox servers running at home (although they are old and use A LOT!!!! of electricity) , I am running several VM's and my home hacking lab is coming along better then I expected. I was going to give up at least once a day for last 365 days, but I keep at it.
It amazes me how I must build an entire frame work just to accomplish 1 thing in Linux, but that framework starts coming together and before you know it, you got the FBI kicking your door down because you "accidentally" logged into an FBI secure system----- I digress, no just kidding, they haven't kicked my door down yet.

Oh never mind. My question is " I installed Pfsense as a vm and I am trying to go into the web GUI to finish up, but I am not able to ping anything on my LAN and I am not able to ping PFSENSE from within Proxmox, any of my VM's or from any other system on my home network. I still have my service provider router set up because my servers are in a different room and I am trying to isolate my hacking lab from the rest of my network. So I need some advise. I'm sure the answer will come to me before morning, but Maybe I misunderstand exactly what PF Sense does with my network addresses?
Like usual, I will contribute to this community as much as my knowledge will let me. I am sure there will be some GUI addicted newbie like me on here that can learn form my mistakes.
I appreciate EVERYONE'S help with my problems, if you know a good head shrink maybe I can be whole again? I know your time is valuable and I appreciate every single piece of advise more then I can express.

hi,

Oh never mind. My question is " I installed Pfsense as a vm and I am trying to go into the web GUI to finish up, but I am not able to ping anything on my LAN and I am not able to ping PFSENSE from within Proxmox, any of my VM's or from any other system on my home network
well how is the network configuration for the pfsense VM?

usually you want it to have two bridges, one for WAN (in this case it should talk to your ISP router and have an IP from your regular local network range), and another for LAN (where you create for example an empty bridge on your PVE server and use that to manage a private IP range for your other VMs)

I was forced to reinstall Prox on all my servers because I lost my onboard nic ports. I was following a video and it didnt come out too well. Now I have a fresh install on all my nodes and I have things working. I am going to install pfsense on an older Dell Studio laptop I have that the screen is broken off on. This way I can run all my traffic through it before it reaches my cyber range. If I make a mistake it will take a lot less work to fix then what I was doing. I will slowly learn how to virtualize pfsense after I am fully set up. Thanks for your valuable time...

LOL. Buddy, in order for these operating systems not to seem like a crossword puzzle to you, you should have a better understanding of programming, for example. And if you are also engaged in hacking, then you should take care of the quality of your knowledge even more. You shouldn't think it's that easy, dude. By the way, it's better to just solve real crossword puzzles. Here is the hint platform https://crossword-solver.io/clue/german-article/. It's just in case you can't figure it out here, dude. LOL.
