Proxmox Agent doesn't start (qemu-guest-agent)

Hi everyone,

I'm looking at moving over to Proxmox and this is the first issue I have had. It can't start the qemu-guest-agent in AlmaLinux 9. I have already done one AlmaLinux 9 fine with no trouble at all, so I am bit stuck!

I have installed qemu-guest-agent fine. I have enabled it in 'Options' for my VM. When I try running it I get:

[root@ns2 ~]# systemctl start qemu-guest-agent
A dependency job for qemu-guest-agent.service failed. See 'journalctl -xe' for details.

systemctl:

Jul 24 17:46:49 ns2.ajjm.net systemd[1]: dev-virtio\x2dports-org.qemu.guest_agent.0.device: Job dev-virtio\x2dports-org.qemu.guest_agent.0.device/start timed out.

Subject: A start job for unit dev-virtio\x2dports-org.qemu.guest_agent.0.device has failed

Any help would be gratefully received!

If you just added the Agent option in the VM, you must fully shutdown the VM and start it again.
Agent option creates a hardware device on the VM. This device is not hot-pluggable.

Ah, that's it, I hadn't fully shut down the VM.
