I can't do anything currently. No key presses are registered, so an NVIDIA GPU (1080 EVGA) is currently being used for Plex (VM has a passthrough).

This happened right after I updated the system from 8 to 9. Before the restart, I again used the pve8to9 command. The command indicated that the system was successfully updated, so I thought that a restart would be good now. Do I just let it sit?

I already tried:
nomodeset in grub
disable the IMOOU in grub
tried to load pve manger 6.8.12-17 recovery and 6.8.12-15 both did not work.
waiting for 30 min

What hardware is this? Can you try disabling every Virtualization option in the UEFI and try if you can boot then? Also try to add debug to the boot args. amd_iommu is not needed for modern kernels, by the way.

I will try to disable the pci virtualisation and debug is probably added to where it says quiet I guess?

so, after disabling virtualization, ,IOMMU and adding debug the last message I see is "Failed to chase symlinks in "/sys/class/pci/0000:00:01.1""

Could you try removing the NVIDIA card and test again please?
So, I have successfully booted now, but I have different issues. All drives are detected, but Proxmox GUI and itself do not start, and when I follow the grub failure article, I am stuck at the

part of the article. Every time I try to mount, I get the error "Cant lookup blockdev". Also, yeah, the system does not start with the NVIDIA GPU in any way I am using an older AMD card for this.
