Hi,
I am trying to create a cluster with my LAB proxmox 9.0.11.

I red the documentation, and unfortunatelly, I am unable to have 3 hosts, so trying with two... but I am not able to make it work. (as many said, I just would like to be able to move machine from nodes local disk to another node local disk ,and I am aware that in case of "failing host", I would be in deep trouble.

Anyway: I am NOT able to make the cluster working.............. and even if I would create a third node, ....... I would still need to be able to have a cluster with 2 nodes working first right ? and I would have to be able to add the 3rd after ?

Here I have:
- Time set the same
- hosts file with both nodes name fqdn and ip
Everytime I had the pve2 to the cluster, I have :

This message on nodes 1 that appear:

'/etc/pve/nodes/pve2/pve-ssl.pem' does not exist! (500)

right after I clic add...

I tested (and am still using) same config with proxmox 8.4, and had no problem, even find the product kind of "magic".....

Is there anything "special" now in version 9 for creating cluster, of am I really doing something wrong? (been trying 3-4 times, have dozen of tab in my navigator open, ... and will try again if you advice me on some things.....)

Thanks in advance.

WAW... I will come back another day to confirm, but might be (and the idea came to my head as I was having a shower before bed) that my switch blocks the COROSYNC traffic...

with a tcpdump on the interface, I could see trafic only 1 way:

00:20:18.594237 IP pve41-01.5405 > pve2.5405: UDP, length 80
00:20:19.394360 IP pve41-01.5405 > pve2.5405: UDP, length 80
00:20:20.194482 IP pve41-01.5405 > pve2.5405: UDP, length 80
00:20:20.994596 IP pve41-01.5405 > pve2.5405: UDP, length 80

and vice versa....

As soon as I disabled the "Auto DoS" in "advanced security" of my old HP Procurve 1810G .... trafic went both direction

Now it's too late to continue testing, but It might be it ..... I will report another day, hopefully with a working cluster !

Good night !

PS: Completely sorry, if that was it, this post is completely useless..... but was desperate to get it working.... now I am full of hope! :-D :-D

Hi all,

I come back to confirm that the "miss configuration" on my switch was the problem....

Now I have my 2 nodes cluster that is rocking nice.....

I have, meanwhile, learned a lot during this adventure.....

Now, able to remove nodes, rename nodes, re-create cluster, and allllllllll seems soooooo flawless....

So clearly, sorry all for disturbing!!!!!!

Have a nice evening!
