Like an idiot, i accidentally deleted my container raw file, and didn't find information how to recover the data from the running container before i shut it down.
I was reinstalling 8.1 on my main server, and migrated the container to a backup node in my datacenter.
Then started blowing away data on the main server, and container storage was one of the volumes that got deleted.
The container was still running, but the storage area no longer existed. The container only complained about it when trying to change anything. It was perfectly happy to stay running like it was. Nothing i was able to do to restore the storage or redirect to different storage worked.
I can't find a backup of the raw file anywhere. HOWEVER, summary page of local storage on the backup node shows a lot of space taken up. There's nothing else on the backup node. Is the data sitting around somewhere and i just can't see it?
Or am i screwed? I have no other backups anywhere. Still learning proxmox.
