Hi All,

I've seen this twice today - and I am struggling with it on two Intel Hosts, both of which backup appliances running PVE.

After rebuilding the hosts with v8 during the test period, the hosts would get there DHCP lease, and then post reboot, the device becomes unavailable on that network address.

1 ) Device gets IP on setup
2) Start to Ping that IP - receive replies
3) Go through setup - Ping replies all the time.
4) Replies ring up to reboot.
5) Reboot
6) Ping Drops
7) Device reboots with IP address on log on screen.
8) No Reply - No network connectivity.

I've just resolved this with a reservation against Mac address - but - this shoudln't be happening?

Can anyone give me any pointers to troubleshoot on the console?

the most reliable approach is not to use DHCP. Make a static reservation on your DHCP side, or allocate an IP out of DHCP range. Then set the PVE to corresponding static IP.

That's what we're doing.

We are getting this problem on HPE 1gbe Nic cards in Gen8 and one 7 Host,

Never had this problem before. Use Mac Address to create a reservevation or set address manually.. the host reboots with no network connection, we've got a small huddle of Windows and Vmware Virt engineers all standing around going WTF - and we all love pve - this didn't happen in Pmx 7 iso
