Proxmox 8.4.1 Fresh Install BCM57416 10G Ethernet Adapter Not Recognized

Hi all,

I just purchased a super micro server recently with their BCM57416 10G ethernet adapter and after a fresh install I dont see anything in lspci that refers to the device, nor in dmesg.

I'm guessing maybe the drivers are missing? Do I need to manually install them?

I haven't been able to see anyone else with a similiar issue.

I do use the same adapter on ESXI 8.0 U3 and have no issue from fresh install and BCM drivers are already there. Planning on doing migration to proxmox.

Thanks for reaching out, there's another user that seems to have similar problems [0]. It would be helpful to have more information, could you provide a boot log for the system? Does the NIC have the most recent firmware on it?

HI,
Further troubleshooting led me to the BIOS where I saw the NIC AOC wasn't even discovered there.

I re-seated the NIC and then it worked fine out of the box.

Hi, I am planning to buy 2 or 3 supermicro servers with that LAN adapter. I wonder whether you have had any issues with them so far?
