Proxmox 7.1: how to store backup-files on local

Hi all,
my first posting here, and new to proxmox. Please be gentle ;-)

I've bought a new homeserver, to be used for family-mail, zoneminder, logitech mediaserver and some playing and studying around with linux hosts, VM's and containers.
This new server has a 256 GB SSD, and a 1TB nvme disk.
My plan was to use the nvme for the VM's, CT's and the data in it (NAS) and the SSD for proxmox install and back-ups of the VM's, and containers (but not the data).
(The data is synced to a NAS off-site).

But the SSD is not able to hold back-up files; it does not show up as an option when looking at the storage.
The nvme gives options for VM-disks and CT volumes, the SSD is divided into local-lvm (VM-disks and CT volumes) and local (ISO, CT templates and backups).

How can I change it, so I can use the SSD to hold backups? (I want those later to be copied to the machine that is now in use as my home-sever)
See below, I do not know what else to add that's relevant?

Thanks,
Rolf

Code:

I don't get your question.
You can only store backups on mounted filesystems and your only mounted filesystem is the 59.3 GB root LV. If you want to use the 151.6GB of the LVM-Thin for backups too, you would need to:
1.) migrate your VM 500 to another storage
2.) backup all guests and your "/etc" folder in case something goes wrong and you need to reinstall proxmox
3.) boot from a live linux
4.) destroy the LV that holds your LVM-Thin (lvremove command)
5.) resize your root LV to use the additional space that your VG got because you deleted the LVM-Thin (lvextend command)
6.) grow your filesystem of your root LV (resize2fs command)

Then you should got a 210GB root partition.

Hi Dunuin,

thanks for your answer. The VM500 is just a first test-thingie, I can delete it without problems.
I think with that instructions I can manage.
