Hi,

I am a newbie with Proxmox. I installed the Proxmox 6.1 system on a Raid device with 8 hard disks two weeks ago. Each disk accounts for 2T volume. From last week, the system has frozen 3 times. each time, the networking was frozen (cannot SSH), the console was frozen (console CLI did not respond), and the console screen was frozen. I had to reboot the whole server to restore the service.

I know there is a big issue there. But I do not even know whereabout it is. when the system is working, top, free, and vmstat commands all shown good results.
I installed sysstat with the proxmox system yesterday. This morning, the proxmox system froze again. After rebooting, I ran sar command and found out after 7:30pm last night, there were no record in sar output. I am attaching the sar result for your review. Please lend me a hand.

thank you in advance!

I Just want to add a little bit more info. After the installation, I did the server IP address change from one subnet to another subnet. The implementation from the GUI failed. I had to manually change the server IP by consoling into the server and changing the IP with /etc/network/interfaces. Just now, I found out the IP address in the output of "hostname -i" was still the old one. So I changed it just now. I do not know if this is the reason for the server freezing.

thanks,

I only have one server running proxmox. I think to backup all current running VMs offline to a disk and then re-install the whole proxmox. Could anyone give me some clue about how to do the offline backup to a portable disk?

thanks,
