Hi guys,
I'm trying to pass along /dev/sdb to my guest as a virtio device using 'qm set 100 -virtio0 /dev/sdb' which seems to work. But I'd like to pass along the serial number of the drive as well. So I added to that command and tried 'qm set 100 -virtio0 /dev/sdb -args serial='SERIALXX.' The command is successful, but the vm won't boot after that.
So next I found the 100.conf file in /etc/pve/qemu-server and noticed the 'args' portion wasn't part of the virtio device line. So I fiddled with the virtio0: line with no luck. I've worked with guest kvm xml files, but I'm not familiar with how Proxmox does vm settings.
Can I pass a block device with serial number to the guest? Thanks!!
