Proxmox 4.2 improvements LUNS

Hello everyone, today I would like to make a request to Proxmox development team.
When I provide a new Lun in storage (FC) have to perform the restart in Proxmox server to find new Lun. If I do not want to restart the server I have to install sg3-utils package and after running rescan-scsi-bus.sh --forcerescan -i command. If possible could implement this via GUI existing same functionality in VMWare

Managing the storage backend in a FC san environment can be very, very complicated and I don't think a simple GUI will help here.

Normally, you'll have multipathed storage, so that has to be configured as well. Scanning for new devices is the simplest thing/task I can think of on a Linux machine. This can be done on the live system I did it literally hundreds of times without a problem.

You also have to scan on each machine and only then you're able to add the disk to a clustered LVM. I don't think the complexity can be reduced to one button.

Thanks for the feedback. This is the challenge, today I have Vmware and it can manage new Luns, as the image below. I believe it is an interesting difference in Proxmox for now I use directly by the shell.

I can manage a thousand things in the underlying Linux which VMware cannot do, so what's exactly your point? If you want a 1:1 clone of VMware, stick to VMware.

Hello lnxbil, thanks for the feedback. What I am is to help the Proxmox have more prominent market and be in reference hypervisor.
Today use VMware in my production however make comparisons between the two tools taking the best ideas and sharing with Proxmox developers and I already met a few times.
