Hi,
We use for some years proxmox on cluster of dell m610 blade servers with no trouble.
We plan to order dell R720 to create a small cluster of 3 nodes to store some vm out of our SAN architecture.
Anyone can confirm it's utilization/performance with proxmox 3 ?
* For local storage we plan to use PERC H710 Integrated RAID Controller withe SAS 10KRPM 300 Gb disks
* For network we plan to use Broadcom 5719 network card

Searching on our proxmox 3 existing cluster, it seems the network cards will use the tg3 driver which exists on the proxmox distribution with the minimal version (3.122).
For RAID controller it seems we have too the minimal driver version in proxmox 3 (00.00.06.14-rh1)

Thks for your advices

I have Proxmox 3 running on (3) M620 blades. For storage we use Ceph running on (3) R720xd servers. Each R720xd has the PERC H710 with (12) SAS 7200RPM 3TB disks for data and (2) SSD in RAID-1 for the OS. Each data disk is in its own RAID-0 array (since there is no JBOD support). I am using 10Gb network cards in the R720xd servers and have a 10Gb fabric in the blade chassis.

RADOS testing directly on the Proxmox host shows about 1000MB/s writes and 1200MB/s reads to the cluster. For some reason, when running the same test from a VM on that same node I get about 1/3 that performance. I can run tests simultaneously on (3) VMs that are all on the same node and get a combined performance similar to that of testing directly from the Proxmox host, so it appears something is limiting the performance of each VM.
