Hi Everybody!

I have searched through the forums and haven't found any question answering this. I have Proxmox 3.2 installed on a hard disk and in the system I have 2 other hard disks that are exactly the same. What I want to do is take those two hard disks in a single volume group and then on an identical node with the same setup and volume group set up DRBD. Essentially instead of a DRBD volume with 80gb I would have one with 160gb. I was just wondering if this is possible and if so how could I go about doing it?

Thanks,

Nick

Hi,
you can also use an much greater drbd-volume (i have some TB sized volumes)...

I can't understand right now your limitation of 80gb. Do you mean, you have two 80GB-hdds? In this case forget it - 80GB hdd are very old and normaly slow!
But you can do also drbd on top of lvm (which perhaps use two 80gb hdd). I never use this kind of configuration because of to many layers between the physical and virtual layer.

Yes it is two 80gb hard drives speed isn't a problem they are 10,000 rpm drives that I have been running for a while with no problems! So if I follow the instructions here http://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Extending_Local_Container_Storage and then set up the drbd with these instructions here http://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/DRBD#Disk_for_DRBD and that should work?
