Proxmox 2.0 Crashing after initial install

I've got an HP EliteBook 8760w that I am trying to install 2.0 on. I was able to successfully install version 1.9, but thought I'd give 2.0 a go with all the raves that I've read about it. Installation goes just fine, but upon reboot after the completion of the installation, the system locks up hard. The last line in the boot process is:

[<ffffffff8100b182>] ? system_call_fastpath+0x16/0x1b

Any thoughts what the heck could be causing this. FYI - I used the ISO image available for download as of today, which is dated 05.04.12.
