I'm not sure of the issues one may have turning acpi off but I'll let others comment on that.

I have a different failure while installing proxmox-ve 1.3 via iso image on our new Intel Core i7-920 Quad-Core CPU Server. Proxmox install runs fine until 100% and then exits with a failure message that the kernel (something with AMD?!?) could not be installed. I am posting the exact error message when I got remote connection up again.

Anything else seems to be installed okay. Anyone have a hint how to install the kernel via rescue system on the pve-lvm without restarting installation from scratch?

Thanks,
Thomas

I managed to install proxmox kernel-images and booting the system up getting web interface to display something but unable to start ssh, smtp and other features.

I have a /proxmox_install_mode file in the "/" directory with 0 bytes, what does this mean? I asume the installation was not finished - is there any way I could do this from command line?

Do you have any other 'more vanilla' hardware you can do a test install on using this ISO ?

Or even a desktop PC running a 'testbox' virtualization test environment (ie, Virtual Box running on a desktop PC, for example) - which you can use to do a test install ? The intent here would be to validate that your ISO is OK and able to do a clean install on a more vanilla hardware platform first ...

Just a thought,

Tim

I installed Proxmox VE from this CD on another server without problems. I am asking the techs at place to download a new iso and insert it into the cd drive anyway.
