I tryed booting from the ProxMox iso and installing but It always fails at partitioning. I have an Adaptec 3405 and 4 sata drives. The Array is set as R5. So for kicks I installed Lenny ( 2.6.26-2-amd64 #1 SMP Wed Aug 19 22:33:18 UTC 2009 x86_64 GNU/Linux) and it found my array and installed just fine. My issue is with getting it to boot into the ProxMox kernel. I followed the instructions without issue up to where it says to reboot and choose the ProxMox kernel. ProxMox is not in the grub list. In fact all that shows up is Lenny and SingleUser Mode. When I boot back into Lenny there is not menu.lst file in /boot/grub. So what am I missing??

Thanks in advance!!!

getting closer. Never did get a "menu.lst" to edit but after running "grub-update" was able to almost boot into the kernel. After researching the kernel panic, i changed the grub.cfg to point to sda1 instead of the uid and booted into the kernel. now I am running the rest of the install packages. I may be on the home stretch!

how big is your Raid5 volume? should be smaller than 2 TB.

2.2 TB, but all seems to be working correctly. I wanted to make sure I could reproduce a solid ground up install over Lenny again before attempting it in out live enviroment so I am currently in the process of this. I have a question or two that I will post as soon as I complete it the second time. I will post them very shortly. Thanks for the help.

no error messages after the grub.cfg edit. Looks like it is going to work. Keep you posted!
