Hi,

I know that as of DRBD9 it requires 3 nodes. Does that mean I can however have 2 high spec nodes and a 3rd acting as quorum/witness that is lower spec? Would this still work or shall I also pay to get the 3rd node upgraded to the same spec as the two higher spec ones?

Kind Regards,
Jerome Haynes

Hi,
DRBD9 don't require three nodes.
You should have three nodes for pve-cluster (quorum).

I have on my home-cluster drbd9 between two nodes and the third node is for quorum and other big raid-space.

Hi Udo. Thank you. So am I correct in understanding that the replication/data will only be held on the two nodes with the third as quorum?

Just need to get this right the first time as it will be a production environment and once this is put into the datacenter it will have live data on it so won't be able to change.

Kind Regards,
Jerome Haynes
