Hello !

I try for the first time to make a HA PVE, and I am lost a little bit

I have 4 nodes in cluster connected using SAS connection to the storage (HP P2000 G3 SAS SAN).
Mutipath is configured and working fine.

I tried using LVM and ZFS it work fine on all nodes.

But I am lost for the next step to be able to do live migration and HA.
What storage type should I use ?

Can I still use ZFS over scsi even if my storage is attached using SAS and not ethernet ?
Should I use another storage ?

Help

No, you can never use ZFS on any HA-based storage backend. ZFS is a single-host filesystem and you cannot use it on multiple nodes at the same time - it can only be accessed/opened on one node.

Just use LVM (not thin, this is also not cluster compatible) and use it. It supports HA migration.

Thank you for the reply !

Yes, this is what I did and it is working fine !

My only regret is that I can not make any snapshot.

Best regards !

Yes, that is unfortunately true. I also miss is often.

Oh .... I therefore have one node with local ZFS storage on multiple SSDs to play around with a new VM, snapshot it and do all the stuff i wanted to test and it then "moves to production" on the SAN. This works very well and is IMHO the best solution for such "problems".
