process UPDATECHECKERD high cpu usage

hi,
that's not a process from PVE.
it might be something you installed, or might be malware (mining coins or similar).
if it comes up after you kill it, i'd check the cron jobs.
do you happen to have a file
if that exists then it's most likely malware [0] (the article also mentions
if your server is compromised then you should take action to remove the malware, change your passwords. ideally you would reinstall the whole server
is this a cluster? if yes you should also check your other hosts...

/usr/sbin/uplugplay on your system? please check ls -al /usr/sbin/uplugplay.if that exists then it's most likely malware [0] (the article also mentions
