Problem with second interface ethernet usb

Hi in my server I have got second interface ethernet on usb (linksys). Do not know why proxmox down this interface for 2-3 hours running. First interface working fine but this on usb not. I try everything what I know. Also I try usb control power for this ethernet card.

Got a temporary solution
ifup -a -this woke up that card, but what to do to figure out this problem?

what is the interface called? if you check ip a you should see the name.

you can look inside dmesg to see if there are any errors related to the interface.

f.e. if your interface is called enp5s0 you can try: dmesg | grep enp5s0 -C 5
if you know which driver module it's loading you can also grep for that.

i would also check the /var/log/syslog as well

it could be an issue with the realtek drivers (r8152) but that's just a wild guess.

what is your kernel version? pveversion or uname -r should tell you.

also what does your /etc/network/interfaces file look like?

have you tried upgrading the kernel package to see if it makes any difference?
you can try installing pve-kernel-5.15 followed by a reboot, and report back here if the issue is still there
 
Hi if you are still interested, I solved my problem -how? I throw to garbage my linksys usb3gig and installed ugreen usb new card - perfectly working

I encountered almost the same problem. It's most likely a hardware problem.
I added a udev rule file to temporarily solve this problem.
