Problem with memory.

Hello Sirs,

I have a dedicated server at OVH to conduct studies and tests of some virtualization panels, so I came up with proxmox 5 which is already a template native to OVH's servers.

I can already create servers, have access to iso, configure network, everything reading the documentation that is available to the user.

I installed a VM with Windows Server, I made the whole process of installing the correct drivers by the system.

So, I now have a problem, in the "Summary" option of VM memory usage is low.


In the "Summary" option of the node the memory consumption is high, I have 3 VMs connected with 5gb of ram configured, with nothing open inside them, the 3 so a total of 3gb of ram in use, but in the node shows more than 15gb of ram.



Does anyone have a solution for this?

What filesystem do you use on your PVE host?

Normally, the used RAM is not the sum of all VMs. Linux (or any other non-windows system I know) counts RAM different than Windows because used cache is not counted as free as it is in Windows. Please have also a look at https://www.linuxatemyram.com/.

This is not a filesystem, it is a virtualization technology. Could you please post a screenshot (best in english):

So creating a new VM with also 5 GB does not yield any result?

What PVE version are you running exactly? (you wiped the information from the screenshot)

I'm not talking about storage, I'm talking about ram memory.
