Problem with a datastore

Hi, I'm new to pbs and I'm trying to setup a datastore on an usb hard-drive for offsite storage using the manteinance feature.
I've formatted the usb-drive, no problem there, as it is dedicated I setup it with zfs.

The problem is that when I create a datastore on it, albeit is usable, as I can do backups on it, It does not appear on the datastore menu on the left.
It is strange, as it appears on the summary, but not in the menu.

Notice the usbdrive2 datastore, it appears on the right in the summary but not in the left menu

Any clues?

does it show after a browser refresh (F5) ?

if not, with which user are you logged in? which permissions does the user have?

also what does

proxmox-backup-debug api get /admin/datastore

?

Thanks for your answer, tried with F5 and CtrlF5, I'm logged as root in pbs, afaik it has all the permissions (I checked)

what are the exact permissions for that user (just to rule out some weird edge case)

possibly, is there any error message when you open the developer console (F12 for most browser/os)

The permissions are basically all:



all in yes, including the ones not in the screenshoot

Fouling around the GUI, looks like the GUI doesn't recognize the datastore, for example in the list that appears when you click permissions in datastore:




As you can see, the third datastore does not appear in the list...



Here is the content of developer console, no error , just warnings. I'm a programmer, so if you need something like "put a breakpoint here and get the value of this variable..." just ask, I know the grind of finding a bug when you can't reproduce it

The file you ask for is empty in my install. I didn't manipulate it in any way
I'm logged in with root

mhmmm... thats really strange. do you have a maintanence mode set at the moment? if yes with what message and does it work if you remove the maintenance mode again? (with 'proxmox-backup-manager datastore update')

Thank you for your answer, sorry to not answer before, I was on a vacation trip.
Today I entered the WebGui and there it was the datastore!!! , nothing changed, so I don't know what to say, probably just some reboots with the disk connected, weird. I was playing with maintenance mode earlier

I will play with it, and come back to you if it happens again

An update with this, finally I noticed that the problem happens in Firefox, currently I have it running OK in Opera, and failing in Firefox, if I can do something to help to nail it down just ask, right now I can work from Opera. It must be a bug that happens only in firefox

do you have any plugins/extensions in firefox that might interfere here? could you try testing in a private window?

Hmmm, I don't use any plugins/extensions, but you are on the right track, it works fine in private window. The only plugins that appears are related to media codec and or encryption, nothing fancy, any clue?
