I am trying to install Ubuntu 22.04 as VM in Proxmox. getting an error "failed to create file system" in the partition creation stage. Tried with several different settings in VM but with no success.

Hi,
what storage do you use for the VM disk? Which settings did you try to change? Can you post the storage configuration cat /etc/pve/storage.cfg and the VM configuration qm config <VMID> as well as the PVE version pveversion -v

Edit: Also check the journalctl -r -b output

Now the issue is sorted.

I was creating the disk for the VM in my NAS server instead of the local LVM.
After changing the disk storage location to local LVM, the problem was fixed.

Thanks.

So - we cannot use a NAS to store the disk for the VM? I'm having the same issue here, but I was keen to use the NAS for VM disk storage.
