Problem: host keeps shutting down automatically

hey guys,

Having an insanely frustrating issue. Have two guest machines on a dual core, 4gb ram host.

One of the hosts, a win08 machine, just turns off. No warning, no messages. It just turns off. I've rebuilt the machine twice now, same issue. VNC'ing in - there's no blue screen, nothing. it just powers off.

Any idea how to troubleshoot this problem??

Hi,
try ide (not virtio) for the harddisk and the latest e1000-driver for the nic.

I had similiar things under heavy load with an xp-box. With ide/e1000 it runs very stable.

it also happen for my 2008-r2 host, but never happens for 2003... strange
both hosts are using ide for hdd and virtio for lan

since the 2008-r2 host has the biggest allocated ram, i was thinking that is the reason: when the ram is not enough, proxmox will shutdown the vm
but i am using only 6gb on 8gb ram...
