Hello,

i want to run MacOS Ventura on Proxmox with OpenCore.

I never work with this things before so please be gently with me when i not understand everything in the beginning or when i have "stupid" questions.

I installed Debian and Proxmox already on Windows 11.
Now i tryed to install MacOS Ventura on Proxmox with this guide:
https://i12bretro.github.io/tutorials/0775.html
The installation of MacOS Ventura starts already but always after a couple of minutes the VM stops.

I hope somebody can help me.

Best regards

Kibi

I can suggest to try Nick's guide, which normally work just out-of-the-box.

If it does not work out-of-the-box, you will have a very hard time. Often it depends on the hardware. The better to the original, the better the chances to get it right. You also need to have a recent CPU if you want to run a recent MacOS. They often require special CPU features not available in older models. Also try to have a dedicated an supported metal-compatible graphics card.

Thank you for the fast answer.
I will try it.
My CPU is AMD 6900HS.
And my GPU is from the RTX 3000 series. I think the GPU is not supported.

But I don’t understand why the MacOS setup start and run ca. 10 minutes and then the VM stops.
Can I find out in Proxmox the reason why the VM Stops?

Yes, none of those things are officially (as in you can buy apple hardware with that components). This is what I meant by "hard time".
I tried it with the same CPU and GPU Apple uses and it just worked out of the box.

Not from the outside (PVE), you need to enter debugging mode and probably add a serial debugging channel. Also things you normally don't want. You may check hackintosh forums in order to get it to work. There is some kext-things that may work, but in the end ... best chances to get it to work with similar hardware to Apples.

Oh this sounds not very good. Yes when I know this all before I think with an Intel CPU is more easier. Because Apple used Intel before. Maybe I try other ways also. Thank you for your help. ;)
