Hello,

When I try to backup my PVE to the PBS STORAGE I get this error

ERROR: VM 101 qmp command 'backup' failed - backup register image failed: command error: inserting chunk on store 'STORAGE' failed for bb9f8df61474d25e71fa00722318cd387396ca1736605e1248821cc0de3d3af8 - mkstemp "/mnt/datastore/STORAGE/.chunks/bb9f/bb9f8df61474d25e71fa00722318cd387396ca1736605e1248821cc0de3d3af8.tmp_XXXXXX" failed: ENOENT: No such file or directory

I have created the .chunks manually but I get the error same error

Hey,

why, and how did you create .chunks manually? It is created and setup correctly on datastore creation. Is .chunks filled with directories? If yes make sure everything is owned by the backup user. You can check that with ls -la .chunks.

I created it because it didn't create itself.
I set the permissions to backup:backup but no directories are created inside it.
What I did was create a data store inside it, everything was created correctly.

thanks

Inside .chunks/? The <DATASTORE>/.chunks/ directory is part of a datastore. And if the creation task finished successfully it was created. Could you post the logs of the task when you created the datastore?

of course,
attached file
The creation of the .chunk is clearly visible.
