hello,
I install Windows Server 2008, the cdrom has the parameters:
BUS: IDE
Interface: IDE 1:0 (CDROM: cdrom device)
The problem is that I can not read cdrom or dvdrom (message: Windows can not access this disk)
The reader is available on windows and eject command works properly
Does anyone has had this problem?

Hi Jeremy,

Make an iso from your DVD, copy the iso on your server, in /var/lib/vz/template/iso (if the iso is bigger than 2 Go, it won't work with the web GUI 'upload', use an scp client as filezilla for example), then configure your VM to boot on this iso. It is the way I always do it.

Certainly, Proxmox does not recognize the CDROM controller on your server.

why is the "cdrom device" there then? PVE just passes /dev/cdrom to qemu and that should work fine. Personally I've never used the physical CD-ROM though, but it should work.
