I have an existing physical server running CentOS-7.x. This system was built several years ago using btrfs RAID1 on two physical 3TB SATA drives. I recently added two 240GB SSD drives to run Proxmox on. What I would like to do if possible is create a VM on Proxmox and pass the two physical disks to the VM two run that system directly off the existing physical disks.

I have found in my digging where people have done this with a Windows disk successfully. Just wondering if anyone has had success doing it with CentOS-7.x and if there are any caveats in doing so.

I am currently disk imaging (another 4 hours to go) one of the btrfs disks to a third disk before I mess with this. Will get existing system to boot from third disk (change UUID in /etc/fstab) first and test with that disk before attempting with the actual disks. In the meantime I will continue searching for information on this process.

Regards,
