I am having difficulty getting the pop3 connector to work with Exchange 2010. I entered my user information in ProxMox and chose "download now" and immediately got an error in my exchange box saying it could not authenticate. I realized I used the wrong password so went into ProxMox setting and corrected it.

If I go to Message Center Tracking -> Realtime I see the following information in the log:

Jan 11 21:54:25 fetchmail 3498 awakened at Tue Jan 11 21:54:25 2011
Jan 11 21:54:26 fetchmail 3498 276 messages (276 seen) for [My Email Address] at proxmox0001 (21414184 octets).
Jan 11 21:54:26 fetchmail 3498 sleeping at Tue Jan 11 21:54:26 2011 for 300 seconds

So it is obviously seeing my emails on our pop server yet it does not appear to be downloading them and forwarding them on to Exchange. I know it is finding my correct Exchange account because it sent me the error. Anyone have any idea what I may be doing wrong?

Thanks!

I do not understand your email setup. Pls describe your email server setup in detail.

I am not sure what you are asking for? Incoming email is forwarded from our router/firewall to the proxmox mail gateway which then forwards it to our exchange server. That function works fine. If I send an email from my gmail to my primary email address hosted on exchange the proxmox logs show it coming through and I receive it in Exchange. I am trying to connect to another pop3 account I have on another email server and have it deliver those emails to exchange as well. It is obviously connecting because it shows that there are 276 messages on the pop email server, which is correct. I just isn't downloading them and forwarding them on to exchange.

And new messages are also not forwarded?

New messages to my pop server are not delivered to exchange but new messages to my primary exchange email address are passing through proxmox to exchange.

The only log entries I can find are located in Tracking Center->Realtime. It shows fetchmail awakened, it reports that it sees x number of emails (which grows as I receive more email) then fetchmail closing. Are there logs somewhere else? If it successfully connects to my pop server, why is it not forwarding that mail that it "sees" to my exchange server?

No, it hasn't. That is the point of my post. Fetchmail connects to my pop account, sees the messages, but does not download them and pass them to exchange. It never has. The logs only show what was in my original post. fetchmail starts, sees my messages, then stops and nothing else happens.

Please rry to run manually:

# su fetchmail
# fetchmail -c -f /etc/fetchmailrc

Does that give any useful hints? Does the following file exist?

/var/lib/fetchmail/.fetchmail-UIDL-cache

if so, delete it and run again. Does that help?
