Poor user experience with Windows Server 2025 on Proxmox

I was just emotional because I cannot hear the advice "stick to old windows / don't use windows" anymore. If I could I would. If I could decide, all of our software stack would run on Linux.

your config (and system) is as optimized as it could be. other than different storage choices there are not likely many knobs left to turn. Since the guest type and performance appear to be hard requirements, you may need to consider other hypervisors or bare metal. Depending on what you're actually using the system for, it may be a better option to use just Windows as the root OS (and as an added bonus. licensing becomes less "gray")

Good catch, OS type Windows is a key, as Proxmox VE adds automatically Hyper-V Spinlocks and Enlightenments to qemu command line.

Production cluster. 3x Minisforum Msa2 Ryzen 9950hx 64GB 4TB NVME. ZFS Replication, HA. 20Gb LACP per node VM/Rep. 1Gb for quorom. Server 2025 sluggish with Host as cpu. Changed CPU to 64 v4, enabled Guest agent/tools 1.3 and ran standard tweaks here. https://github.com/christitustech/winutil .. Vm is running snappy again.
