Hi all,

I'm contemplating replacing a mail server with PMG.

The installation options that are relevant to me are 'on top of Debian' (together with PVE) or 'Download the LXC template'

The mail server sees a fairly low volume of mail. Is there any benefit to one or the other option?

The only things I can think of, is that when installing in a container, the backups can be handled by PBS and the update cycle would be decoupled from PVE.

Thank you for your thoughts!

Use the template. An email server is something special, for instance, you might need a special DNS config. Also both use Port 8006 for their WebUI.
But the lxc-template has some problems too. You will have to watch the forum if you are not a linux pro.
