I am embarking on building a Plex VM, using my iGPU as a mediated device for transcode purposes. I am trying to find out the following:
1) I am going to build a Linux VM. Do I need a GUI?
2) I have set the specs of the VM to 2 vCPUs and 4 Gig of vRAM. Do I need more?
3) I am going to use this VM as both a Plex media server and a transcode device, meaning I transcode all videos to H265, before I watch them. Any issues I should be aware of?
4) Do I need to install native GPU software as part of this build? My iGPU is an Intel GPU.
I think that covers it. I am very interested in hearing how this can or has been done.
