So I installed proxmox 7 on a new build. It went through perfectly. However there is no web interface to login to. There are also no repos to pull updates from.

I tried to reinstall it but couldn't so I loaded up mint to wipe the drive with gparted. Now I cannot get it to install as the screen just goes blank after it grabs an IP address from the DHCP.

So now I can't install proxmox at all.

I have tried the Nvidia gpu 1080ti which was fine on the first install then I tried the igpu but no luck.

I am really tearing my hair out on this.

Sounds like a network problem.
Did you use both "https:" and ":8007"?
And you need to edit the repo because you can't use the default one without subscription.

The original install said 8006. But got nothing from Https. Tried Android Windows 10. Chrome book. Opera Firefox Chrome edge.

I am more worried I cannot even install proxmox now.

I am happy to pay for a licence however I need to test it first as it's just for a pfsense freenas and database to run.

The system is 32gb ram
I7 4790
1080ti
5x 8tb Nas drives
2x 1tb SSD
2x 500gb SSD

Sorry, I mean 8006. Port 8007 is for the PBS.
I asked because if you use "http:" or dont add the port part there is no WebUI.

And you don't need the license, you can edit the /etc/apt/sources.list to use the non-subscription repository. You find the howto in the wiki.

It's more the it won't even install now.

It gets to the wizard bit then the screen just goes off

Ok progress
The gpu is going into 4k mode so running it through a 1080 splitter to restrict it and got the install wizard back up

Still no web server but I can finally get to a login screen locally

I would use a static IP and manually set the gateway and dns.
Did you tried to ping 8.8.8.8 from your host or to ping your host from a client to see if your network is working at all?

What would I need to change the repo to? As all the instructions are for Jessie not bullseye.

And I get unreachable host on 8.8.8.8.

So is ufw enabled by default?

It is manually mapped IP I changed it from the 50 the DHCP was grabbing to 51

Really sorry about all this. Just wasn't expecting all of this

PVE is using iptables and that isn't blocking anything by default.
If you can't ping 8.8.8.8 your host is offline so you should check first why your network isn't working.

what IP subnet is your phone on? (wifi connection -> status should give you that info)

Is the phone the only way you will be able to connect to the host?

If you changed the IP from .50 to .51 did you also set the gateway and subnet?

It works for everything else.

I tried IP addr
Screen shot included

It looks like eth0 isn't connected but works on 6 other machines as I checked the cable.

So guessing this is driver issues?

Booted into mint and internet and entire network all working and on all 6 ports.

It's all on the same subnet I just used the phone as the proxmox was plugging into the TV I edit on.

I think this is pure driver related but all 6 ports are intel based chipsets.
