Hi there,
I recently build a homeserver and I decided to run a virtual environment with a Proxmox as the hypervisor. One of the goals running proxmox is to also be able to also run a pfsense as my firewall within the same machine. I'm running proxmox on a PC that has two onboard NICs. Following some guides and tutorials online, I have successfully installed pfsense and made it work to handle the traffic of the vms, but not the 2nd onboard NIC. I would like to connect the 2nd nic to a switch which then will connect to other devices on the network. I configured it by using 2 linux bridges for the pfsense. One bridge as vmbr0 that binds one of the NICs and get the WAN from, the other bridge is just an empty bridge (vmbr1) that pfsense uses it as a LAN where the VMs connect to to get ip addresses and traffic from.
Can someone guide me with the proxmox configuration so that all traffic from the 2nd nic and the vms inside proxmox will go through pfsense and also have proxmox running behind pfsense as well. What should I do to make the 2nd nic working to handle the routing of the the devices that are connected to the physical NIC.
Thanks,
Andrew
