perf not working in Proxmox 5.1

I am having problems with a runaway kworker thread in Proxmox and wanted to debug this issue using perf. Am getting this error message:

/usr/bin/perf /usr/bin/perf: line 13: exec: perf_4.13: not found E: linux-perf-4.13 is not installed.

Clearly perf is installed, but cannot run it somehow.

Any ideas?
