pct restore error unable to parse version info 'squeeze'

I am trying to move containers from 1.9 to 4.1. I do the vzdump and do the pct restore on new box.

It get this error:
unable to parse version info 'squeeze/sid'

I can't get the restore to complete. How do I get around this. Looks like a bug. Even tried the -ostype option. That didn't work either.

We do not support debian unstable (squeeze/sid). If you use latest pve version, you can try to set

--ostype unmanaged

But then you need to adopt all configuration yourself.

I'm in the same situation as you. Moving from 1.9 to 4.4. Not sure what you mean by replaced sqeeze/sid to the 5.03

PatchDog - just to answer your question, S.Volkov did the following.

Edit the /etc/debian_version file on your image, and change 'squeeze/sid' to a numeric debian version, such as 5.0.3 which was for the lenny release.
