PBS to Backup NAS

I know this may sound inappropriate, but I would like to Backup my NAS onto the PBS.

I would like to backup all VM and my NAS on a regular schedule to a Tape and I want a single Instance for my Backup. I dont want one Tape for VM and one Tape for NAS.
So is it possible, while maybe not as effective, to Backup an NFS or SMB Share together with my VM? maybe even with DeDup and incremental?

This ask my seem very off, please don't hate me for this.
A simple "no" is sufficient. Maybe it is intersting as an approach.

together as in at the same time/with one backup task? no. together as in onto the same datastore/PBS server? yes, just like any other file system/directory on a Linux host.

you can run proxmox-backup-client backup (either directly on the NAS if it is Debian based, or on some system that has access to the full data, but the latter is likely slower cause of the extra level of indirection).

@fabian NICE I will try through a VM first. Maybe via NAs directly later.

@mac.linux.free Would you mind elaborate? I use QNAP, but I think I could get a PBS Docker running on said NAS. Does the Docker have direct access to the NAS Data? Actually I have a hardware Appliance. I think you' re thinking of a different usecase.

Sadly QNAP has no Docker support. On my synology thereis an community repository an I can use borg and docker.

Of course QNAP has Docker support. Not with every model, of course. Install the Container Station and you can deploy Docker containers as you like. Even with docker-compose, if you want.

ok cool didn't know that...but I'm not a fan of preconfigured nases...as seen the last ransomware attacks on qnaps

This does not quite cover, what I wanted to know.
You mean you installed PBS Docker onto a Cotainer on your NAS and you could Backup the whole NAS with that Docker? Does it have direct Data Access?
This was the part I wanted to know more about

Off Topic I too am not a big fan of NAS from QNAP, Synology or Terramaster (etc.) but it is an fairly easy way to get a local shared drive, with some additional features and maintainable for a peasant. FreeNAS, OMV and Unraid are nice, but for intermediate Users at least.
