PBS Storage / Disks No Disks unused? I have disks 2T unused

I've tried everything in PBS Storage / Disks, I can't create a Directory or ZFS No Disks unused. I purchased the Samsung Portable T7 USB SSD drive. It would be nice if Samsung or Proxmox provided some kind of info in getting this storage drive up and running since it would benefit both of them. Both products look promising to learn but so far, nothing but a lot of headaches. Screenshot 2023-02-03 8.01.27 PM.png

Hi,
both disks already contain a ZFS, so that's why they are not available to initialize. You can just create a datastore with Add Datastore and provide an absolute path to where it should be created to make use of the disk.

Did you set up a ZFS mirror with these two disks while installing? I'm not sure mixing HDD and SSD is a good idea, ideally mirrored devices are identical.

Hi Fiona, thank you so much for your reply. No, I did not mirror the two disks in ZFS. I'm going to experiment using the path directory option. Cheers

that depends on what the partitions on vda are. But if you have a mounted file system (make sure it's automatically mounted during boot), you can just specify a path on that file system when adding a datastore. If you want to use the disk fully for a datastore, you can wipe it clean (via CLI) and then add it as ZFS or Directory in the UI (Administration > Storage/Disks > Directory or ZFS > Create).
