PBS server 4.1.2 (running outside virtual environment) backing up on virtual environment 9.1.5

Dears,

I've over the weekend upgraded my virtual environment with latest patches.
Since then, everytime the backup runs (PBS) ; all my virtual machines become unreachable. (this is around midnight every day)

I can still ping the PVE, but not logon to it anymore.

Maybe also add, I then tried to limit the IO too 100MB/sec on datacenter node level for backup/restore. But same issue.
Filesystem is ext4 single node.

Any way in further troubleshooting this please?
Attached syslog and report.

Thanks,

Tim

Are you actually running PBS Version 2.2? It's out of support so I would upgrade to at least the latest PBS3 or PBS Version. I wouldn't expect that an outdates PBS can backup the current PVE Release.

Ok, is the PBS on the same host or on another? How is the network and storage configured? What kind of datastore are you using (local, network share, s3...)?

PBS is running as a VM on a different hypervisor (Synology NAS).
PBS VM is using the NAS disks directly to write the backups to.

The PVE is another physical machine, connected over 10Gbe to the Synology NAS.
The PVE is running of an NVMe.

What kind of discs do are you using for the NAS? How are they configured for the VM? Which backup-mode (snapshot, stop etc) are you using?

You mentioned that you changed the data rate in PVE, did you also try to limit it with traffic control in PBS?
