PBS live restore - need to be able to set VLAN

We need to periodically test our backups and live restore functionality without disrupting the running VMs. We can test a static restore by choosing an unused VMID but without the ability to choose a different VLAN the live restore will conflict with the running VMs.

Does anyone have a solution? If not I suggest this needs to go on the todo list.

Thanks,
Steve

Hello Steve, if your restore is in a nested pve there eg 2 ways, pne is to have a different network there and the test-restored vm cannot work with which is good to not disturb the real running vm but you can access test-vm by nested-pve console to check the restore result, or you restore the test-vm, take a script to mount the image (different for lxc and vm), manipulate a couple of their settings inside, umount and then start the restore-vm. Maybe there are few other helper tools/scripts for auto cloning deployment etc which could do the job also but I don't need them as I have my own way found.
