pbs doesn't recover space after deleting backups

I've deleted all backups (66GB used) and pbs shows still 66GB used. After garbage collections, used space decreased to 38GB.
What to do to decrease it to 0? I haven't got any backup.

Hi,

please checkout the second note in the linked documentation:
https://pbs.proxmox.com/docs/backup-client.html#garbage-collection

I.e., it should be removed all in a GC run at latest tomorrow, and it should show the remaining space as "pending removal" in the log.

Thanks for quick response. So I should wait 24h 5m and rerun gc?

Exactly, wait 24h5m after the last backup was finished (not started) and it should remove those chunks then too.

That menu wasn't as is back then at start of 2021, and it also doesn't change anything on the wait period of 24h since last use of a chunk to actually delete it if unused. If you prune older backups, i.e., made well over a day ago, the issue of that the original thread author ran into won't matter for you either way.

no, except maybe partially with data recovery methods (like any other accidentally deleted files/data).
