PBS backup with Archive to USB Drive instead of tape

I have a PBS serv er doing twice daily backups of a few servers and the rest nightly.
This is working really well. (Have tested and it just rocks,)

But I'm looking to see if it is possible to have a PBS server store the backup data Locally and have the option to create a Daily / Weekly Archive of the backup data stored locally to a USB drive so this data can be removed off site.
PBS server is a standalone server with an 8TB datastore with a Deduplication Factor: 40.28.
 
there is no 1:1 tape like feature for removable hard drives, but there now is a removable datastore feature, and you can configure sync jobs for those (including doing a partial sync only covering specific groups or namespaces).
