PBS backup API usage for developer

Hello everyone, I have read about Technical Overview — Proxmox Backup, but when I read PBS backup API Proxmox Backup Server API Documentation, I don't know how these backup API to use. How I generate these chunks and indexs from files? Is there any API I miss？ Is there any example how to use these uploading chunk, index API? Thanks!

This is probably a terrible thing to do to you.
I only know of one working piece of code that directly modifies .chunks.
This project is a PBS datastore performance tester.
It writes a ton of stuff and counts how long that takes.
Really, I don't know if this will help you at all, but its working code that talks to PBS.

we know of third-party clients, although I don't think any of them are public.

you can find more information on how the files are structured in our docs:

https://pbs.proxmox.com/docs/file-formats.html

but if all you want is to backup some files, I'd strongly recommend just using `proxmox-backup-client backup ..`

Again, this is pretty far from what you asked for, but its working code.
