ovs bridge, propagate link state from physical NIC

What I'm looking to do is propagate the link state from the physical NIC to the virtual NIC attached to the VM through the OVS Switch.
In case I unplug the ethernet cable from the eth interface, the vmbr0 NIC for the VM will be link state down, etc.​

I don't think it's possible (ovs or linux bridge).

Do you have an special need?

Yes! The currently running application on the VM only switches to the redundant VM if it detects a link failure...

It may be easier to switch to a backup link than switching to a different machine. After all, it's probably not that the cable is unplugged, but rather than the link goes down for some other reason?
