OVH Proxmox 7 slow

First, I am still learning the ropes with Proxmox.

I initially got 32GB RAM, SoftRAID 4x2TB SATA and at the time the proxmox available was 6. Everything was fine and LXCs ran smoothly and fast (actually 2 of such servers now).

I got same config today and Proxmox available is 7. I installed and everything is incredibly slow. Is there anything I can do to solve this? I need help.

What exactly is slow? CPU, RAM, NIC, disks, graphics?
Just the guest OSs or also the host OS?
How did you compare performance?
Hardware is identical?

Yes hardware is identical.
Starting or stopping an LXC takes forever. Accessing the web console is almost impossible too.

PVE7 doesn't support cgroup anymore. Only cgroup2. That might effect your old containers.
Running some benchmarks would be useful too to see what might be a problem. A good start would be to run pveperf on the PVE6 and PVE7 servers and compare the results to see if the storage or cpu performance is different.

Also verify that DHCP is disabled for IPv6 for the LXCs if you are not using it. Otherwise this might cause the LXC to wait for a connection until a timeout (for example 5 minutes) is reached and it will look like the console isn't working or the LXC isn't starting.

Thank you.
How do I check cgroup/cgroup2?

Under Network, static is used and not DHCP (for both IPV4 and IPV6). I will check the cpu performance now too.

You can check the PVE7.0 changelog: https://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Roadmap#Proxmox_VE_7.0
Known Issues:
  • Container:
    • cgroupv2 support by the container’s OS is needed to run in a pure cgroupv2 environment. Containers running systemd version 231 or newer support cgroupv2 [1], as do containers that do not use systemd as init system in the first place (e.g., Alpine Linux or Devuan).
CentOS 7 and Ubuntu 16.10 are two prominent examples for Linux distributions releases, which have a systemd version that is too old to run in a cgroupv2 environment, for details and possible fixes see: https://pve.proxmox.com/pve-docs/chapter-pct.html#pct_cgroup_compat
