hey everyone, I am searching for some answers, I have searched many posts but cant seem to find the answer on this.
even Google couldn't find an answer :o

for example I have a 8 core machine with 24GB memory and a 1TB hard drive.
now I setup 8 VPS's each having the same amount of cpu, space, and memory, but after that I can still add more vps's, like its an over sell feature, but I dont want that at all.

if I give a vps a set of resources and he goes over them, then he gets no more, cant borrow from any other vps to satisfy his needs.

so is there a way to set it to not able to oversell, and or even if the oversell was capable then any or all vps's are locked to the resources that were assigned..?
thanks in advance :D
regards

If you dont want to oversell/over provision, i believe your only option is to divide your existing resources equally among the VPSs. Such as each VPS will have 1 core and 3GB RAM, which will equal to 8 core and 24GB ram of your host node.
One of the benefit of Virtualization is precisely that, to be able to over provision. Because not all Virtual machines gets used to their full extent. Squeezing more virtual machines per node is what hypervisors ddesigned to do. This applies to not just Proxmox but VMware, Xen, VirtualBox or just about any other hypervisor product out there.

Going to back to your original question; no, there is no 'option' to not to oversell, it all depends how you want to setup.
