Hello, I'm using pmg as smarthost but it seams it's not filtering spam or virus out of the box, I've checked documentation and forums but I cannot see any hint on this aside it should be working. I cannot see any count for any score in statistics and no virus detected in virus charts. Should I see any tag on mail headers? Any log aside mail.log to check filters are working?

Regards

Did you configure your server to use the internal port of PMG for relaying? (port 26 by default)

Else scanning for Virus/Spam depends to some extent on your configured rules (only rules with direction out are applied to outbound mail) - see the reference documentation: https://pmg.proxmox.com/pmg-docs/pmg-admin-guide.html#chapter_mailfilter

Any log aside mail.log to check filters are working?
no all relevant information should be in the mail.log (pmg-smtp-filter is the service doing the actual scanning)

I hope this helps!
