OSD with iSCSI

I have mapped iscsi LUN, pvcreate, vgcreate and cannot see via GUI, I read taht is possible to condigure, but i cannot find how to?

I believe PVE filters out iSCSI LUNs in some cases. For example, for use by native PBS tools. Its probably an unintentional side effect of trying to isolate user data.

Ceph was never intended to be run over iSCSI. Its made for local disks. If the PVE GUI/structure prevents you from using the disk in the Wizard, you can always configure the entire system yourself. There are many Ceph guides out there.

I've setup PVE Ceph with our iSCSI storage in a lab for an experiment a while back. Of course, I used direct iSCSI tools to make initial configuration. But I dont recall the step by step at this point.

Good luck

Which part of the GUI are you referring to? I have set up a shared LVM storage type using iSCSI LUN without any issue. I don't see the LUN under the node's Disk section and I don't know why. But I can still add a LVM storage under Datacenter > Storage > Add (LVM). In the wizard, choose "Existing volume groups" for Base Storage, and the Volume group drop-down should show all available volume groups on the node.

The node's disk section seems to show local disks and FC LUNs only.

I also found this article that talks about setting up ceph to use LVM manually outside of the Proxmox GUI/CLI. I was able to set up a OSD manually and it shows up in the GUI. I can even choose the Ceph RBD for creating a new hard drive in a VM, however, it failed at the end saying the ceph pool is locked. When I got time I might retry on a different node.
