OS Proxmox installation

Hi.
I've a small homelab for a few VM's and containers with:
- 1 NVme m2 pcie 1TB
- 1 SSD SATA 1TB
- 1 SSD SATA 64GB
- 1 SATA HDD
I doubt how is better install proxmox OS. It's better get a partition on NVme (30 or 40 GB) or It is not neccesary hight speed for OS and it's better install It on separate disk (small SSD or mechanical disk)?
I have only one node (local, same machine that OS)... You will recomend lvm-thin for storage type or other?

Hi!

This all depends on your requirements. 64GB should be sufficient for the Proxmox VE host. You could, for example, install Proxmox VE on it and use your big drives with different storage types to experiment. See this wiki article for an overview of all available types.

Ok thanks for the link. But my principal doubt is if for Proxmox installation the disk speed is so important? It's better install in NVme or compared with SSD there is not performance difference? Thanks

Proxmox VE will run "fine" on a normal SSD. I am just writing this from PVE on Samsung 860 QVO, for example.
