just use the backup=no flag in your VMID.conf file. see 'man qm' for details, also search the forum, already discussed several times.

nono, ur english is fine. i just didnt understand that ur question is related to the kvm functions only and wrote for u a whole manual, how to backup ur windows disk, using samba utils in linux :) and after tom's answer i just edited my message. :)

name: server
ide2: none,media=cdrom
bootdisk: ide0
ostype: w2k3
ide0: local:101/vm-101-disk-1.raw
ide1: /dev/sdc
memory: 3000
onboot: 1
sockets: 1
cores: 4
boot: cad
freeze: 0
cpuunits: 10000
acpi: 1
kvm: 1
vlan0: e1000=1A:DE:A9:A1:A3:94

let me retry by showing the config here is my 2003 server config file i only want to back up the ide0: local:101/vm-101-disk-1.raw is there anyway to do that with the auto backup jobs and the ide1:/dev/sdc i dont want to back this up thank you

hey guys i was just thanking how can i do this and if there was a different way of doing it here what did i mad a new vm and and he config i used the server i wanted to backup ide0: local:101/vm-101-disk-1.raw even tho this vm is local:104 but i changed it to 101 so i can backup my 101 with out the added HDs is this a ok way of doing and if what im saying does not make any sense ill try to retype it to make more sense

after adding the ide1: /dev/sdc,backup=no backup=no i cant get the vm to boot up

why did you add backup=no two times?

any error message? just start the VM via console (qm start VMID).
